  • To increase its ability to market and sell directly to readers, HarperCollins has acquired The Midlist, a daily email newsletter featuring ebook deals. HarperCollins already runs an existing service called Bookperk that offers discounted ebook titles, so the two services will merge, resulting in an email list of 1 million readers. Whereas The Midlist originally featured books from all publishers, now it will focus (at least initially) only on HarperCollins titles.
